This has been the usual pattern of our services in the benefice but as we are currently in an interregnum, looking for a
new priest, things may vary a little but the types of service we celebrate remain the same
MAIN SERVICE
Each Sunday there is a main service. Everyone is warmly invited to come and share in this. It is either:
Sunday Eucharist:
A communion service with hymns and a sermon.
or
Family Eucharist:
The same thing but in modern language, and with a special talk for children.
OTHER SERVICES
Matins or Evensong:
Traditional morning or evening prayer from the Book of Common Prayer, with prayers sermon
and hymns.
Holy Communion:
A short and quiet traditional communion service from the Book of Common Prayer
(or Common Worship at Markbeech); no music and a very short sermon.
Family Service:
Relaxed and cheerful - and short! For all ages but with a special emphasis on children.
Evening service:
This service at Four Elm is different every month - watch out for the publicity.
Sung Eucharist:
A formal and traditional service to provide an alternative to the Family Eucharist on the fourth
Sunday in the month.
